Safety at Elevated Hosur Road (BETL)

Believe it or not, Hosur Road Flyover witnessed multiple vehicle accidents at least 2 times involving 4 or more vehicles. Few accidents even caused damage to median, any one can see it clearly. 2 Fatal accidents have also occured. Pity ! - A local "breaking news" channel did not get these news, while they get news within minutes from any part of city. I suspect their mouth was shut by "Kaibisi"(Some offer) . When I drove I felt like driving in tunnel, not comfortable. I saw average speed of 90+Km when I drew. Ironically during a test of VMS(variable message system) it read "All is well. Drive slowly" !!!

Now I am scared to drive even below flyover in regular road, as I heard of an accident where a biker flew above side-guards and fell below onto road( and died of course). I always drive exactly below the flyover(rightmost lane) to be safe from falling objects, call me whatever..

To BETL : All the best for your toll collection which is going to start "soon" (Soon - Answer I got when I asked some people at toll. No dates, no certainity) . Make sure your customers reach other end for sure.

If KSRTC can issue the travel e-ticket using credit card and ID card combination, why can not issue daily/weekly/monthly pass electronically? I am sure many people will opt for it and reselling will reduce though not to great extent.

Private buses using BMTC stops for waiting

While I appreciate government's(NHAI) efforts to complete the hosur road bus stops, I observed they are not used by BMTC to full extent. I have earlier posted a blog regarding possible root causes.

Madiwala Bus Stop

I saw 2 months back, Madiwala police station bus stop has been relocated to madiwala market with a better infrastructure. What I mean is there is a laybye for buses to stop , at least 3 buses at a time. It was also tarred, I guess at least with cost of 10 lakhs. It had also a footpath-cum-waiting place for passengers.

BMTC Daily Pass - M/F Significance.

I was just wondering what is the significance of marking M/F (Male/Female) in daily passes. Does this help BMTC/public in any way or just an overhead to conductor to mark M/F? Today I have seen an incident conductor did not mark it properly and there was a big fight. Another day I have seen a conductor asked a lady to get down from the bus , as her pass was not marked clearly as female pass.

BMTC Issues - From RCA perspective

Getting a cue from this suvery I thought why not analyse (to some extent) from Root Cause Analysis perspective of TQM (Total Quality Management)? According to RCA we should find further causes of further levels.

So I am trying to just draft out whatever I think. Some of these may be just my imaginations or may feel too theoritical, as we can not understand issues from driver and conductors perspective. I am of hope that this may create some leads towards solutions not any solution as such.

I am imagining survey Question as effects. However I am not analyzing any one from survey questions. But I am taking another simple effect ie, Buses not stopping in bus stops. This creates difficulties for a passenger, specially big problems for kids, pregnant ladies, senior citizens.

I am trying to categorize each cause for better quantification.

While I was travelling to Electronic City I witnessed this scene in BMTC bus. Suddenly I recalled praja.in, where I read "Yatha Praja Tatha Raja". I had neither any comments nor any solution except I alerted conductor. The "gentleman" corrected himself after two warnings from conductor.

Footpath misuse

I found this person parking in neatly built pavement in Koramangala 4th Block.

I feel bad when a (rich) citizen does not follow discipline. See the attachment. This is just one sample. We see lots of such parking. Why to blame government?
