BMTC Strike - what have we learnt?

Public Transport in Bangalore today means Bus which is solely run by BMTC. During business as usual this looks good but its in crisis situations like todays strike that the deficit of not investing in multiple modes or using modern methodologies of running operations can hurt.

Dear Sir,

Daily i have to commute to work from Hebbal Kempapura (Diary Gate stop, Esteem Mall) to Marath Halli bridge using BMTC buses. There are plenty of good bus facility available at Hebbal Ring Road to Marath Halli, Thanks to BMTC for providing good number of buses.

Easing BTM - SILKBOARD bottle neck !

Dear All,
ELCIA have been successful in getting improvements on Silk Board to E-city and beyond with elevated road and flyovers on ORR. Today the real bottle neck is BTM, silk board and Madiwala. This requires out of the box solution acceptable to all stake holders. They have requested associations of ORR, ITPL and WHEELS.,

Bus fare more expensive than driving car...!!

This is an issue that I have been pursuing for more than a year now. Last November, the Chief Minister's office was kind enough to take note and forward it to MD of BMTC... and the wait continues!

Hence, taking this to the public domain...

Volvos breaking down?

I travel from Marathalli to ECity every day and am seeing too many Volvo break downs. I see at least one every alternate day these days.. How do we get stats on this and who do we contact?

Bangalore is moving away from BMTC Buses : Bus-stop removed to ease traffic

To ease traffic congestion on Bellary Road connecting the city and Bengaluru International Airport, the traffic police have removed the BMTC bus-stop situated near the Air Force Headquarters Training Command on Bellary Road.

BMTC will soon be building close to 50 new bus stands at various points in the city which will offer state-of-the-art facilities like bus bays, canteen and waiting halls along with commercial space.

State held Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has bagged a national award constituted by the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO). The award recognizes BMTC's initiative of constructing ten Traffic and Transit Management Centres (TTMCs') in and around Bangalore.
