I began visiting and participating on Praja in 2008 when I was deputed outside the city on work, i knew i would get a clear view into our city through this website, I gradually increased my visits here and also participated in many discussions.

Rain Water Harvesting on Namma Metro

Driving along the RV Road, I noticed that many of the Namma Metro Pillars now had largish drain pipes jutting out at the bottom, presumably to allow rain water from the tracks above and possibly the stations to join the city SWD system. Curious to know if anybody has evaluated the feasibility of rain water harvesting as a mandatory requirement for Namma Metro? It is still not too late.

Namma Metro refreshingly different ?

Just happened to see the inner view of MG Road station in the BMRCL newsletter. (I cannot paste a link to it so have to embed it. Image Courtesy: BMRCL).

It looks refreshingly devoid of commercial jazz and has a soothing feeling to it compared to other Metro railways all over the world.

Namma Metro Smart Card - too few top-up choices ?

Have been reading through the Tender posted by BMRCL on their website inviting tenders from Mobile operators to setup and maintain a top-up system similar to the prepaid top-up system http://bmrc.co.in/pdf/tenders/etopupof%20smart%20cards.pdf

Namma Metro was supposed to be start by Ugadi, but it got postponed. Stations construction was told as the reason. But, CRS had not approved Namma Metro due to the small turning radius of two curves in Reach 1 one near NGEF and another near Ulsoor. Deccan Chronicle reported this and tracking from there, while other leading news papers have not reported anything about this.

Concession in NAMMA METRO for Students community ???

Any plan exists in NAMMA METRO to povide concession in ticket for Students & Senior citizens. As BMTC has this facility & encourages the public to use PT.

Take the case of Kolkotta METRO, 60% concession is offered for students. I hope BMRC also comes out similar facility for students community.
