Incremental Metro Extension in Phase 2

Metro Phase 2 works are going to start very soon. But how long it would take? Phase 1 which started in 2007, saw the light in 2011 partially. For complete Phase 1 to complete, it would be end of 2015 or even 2016. Almost close to 9 years. Phase 2 in the phase 1 pace might take another 9 years. If the work starts now in June / July, it might complete somwhere in 2023.

Why are there no Platform Screen Doors or equivalent on Bangalore Metro?

As per wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platform_screen_doors#India) , Kochi Metro plans to install Platform Screen Doors on all stations.

Thoughts/questions:

Cycling down Nanda Main Road - partially

In May 2008 I had walked down Nanda Main Road from 45th cross (Ring Road) to South End Signal and back documenting through pictures the trees that formed the boulevard. I had, like many others, assumed that many trees were likely to be extensively trimmed, if not cut down completely.

Metro ph II is ready to kick off soon with the approvals coming in from Delhi. There is still lot of discussions pending on the utility and the routes. With the change in ledership there is a possible opportunity to start discussions to optimize routes. The current PH II route with stations is in the below link:

Information on whitefield metro station location

Hello,

Can someone help me in identifying the location of Whitefield metro station?

The current location of the BMTC terminal station falls on the west side of the railway line, while all the residential apartments/houses fall on otherside of railway line. This problem along with the absence of foot over bridge is causing lot accidents and problems.
