Uncontrolled growth - any remedies?

Pedestrian Infrastructure

Here is a tale of two buildings right next to each other.

Setback from the road, and use of basement for the first one:

Manifesto points

The Times of India has invited the Civil Society to send points to be raised under their 'Bangalore Asks Candidates' programme. My list would read as below:

Muralidhar Rao

Do we need a Commonwealth for Namma Metro?

We have been discussing BRTS and other mass surface transport means to tackle the traffic in Bangalore. All this gets us back to the basic question on the Bangalore Metro. The pace of building it!

Driving on Platform / Footpath

In cities like Bangalore, two wheelers choose Platform / Footpath as an alternate driveway during rush hours. This could be highly dangerous to Pedestrians walking on the platform. Rather than Traffic Police caught these folks - people (two wheelers) should think before they get on to a platform as a travel route!

Parking Space

I am posting this as a blog entry as it will be a very good suggestion if implemented. We see lot buildings sprouting everywhere in Bangalore. Henceforth BDA / BMRDA / BBMP and all Municipalities & Panchayats should ensure that any building is constucted so that sufficient parking space is available. for example: comment guidelines
