BMTC Issues - From RCA perspective

Getting a cue from this suvery I thought why not analyse (to some extent) from Root Cause Analysis perspective of TQM (Total Quality Management)? According to RCA we should find further causes of further levels.

So I am trying to just draft out whatever I think. Some of these may be just my imaginations or may feel too theoritical,  as we can not understand issues from driver and conductors perspective. I am of hope that this may create some leads towards solutions not any solution as such.

I am imagining survey Question as effects. However I am not analyzing any one from survey questions. But I am taking another simple effect ie, Buses not stopping in bus stops. This creates difficulties for a passenger, specially big problems for kids, pregnant ladies, senior citizens.

I am trying to categorize each cause for better quantification.

Effect  -

Buses not stopping in easy reach of  waiting passengers in bus shelter

In order to ensure quality and speedy implementation of the works undertaken by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the civic body has hired a third party at a cost of over Rs 4 crore. Civil Aid Techno Clinic Pvt Limited has been chosen by the BBMP to monitor all projects undertaken by it in the city.

Why Belgaum and not Bangalore?

One of the most common questions I – as an entrepreneur – get is: “Why did you choose Belgaum? Why not Bangalore?”. Yes. It is true that Bangalore has established itself as the IT hub aka the Silicon Valley of India. Indeed, Bangalore today is known the world over for the IT presence in the city and not the numerous gardens it hosts. So why did I choose Belgaum?

BMTC - It is all in the numbers

One of the easiest scheduling problems to solve is when time and route are known.  If the time and at least one (pickup or destination) is fixed, then it is even easier to schedule.  If a pickup and drop schedule for 100 people going to an office has to be designed, simply get the pickup points and put it on a m

Plans for BMTC's Rome need redrawing

BMTC has made a start on one front for building their Rome: by increasing bus inventories & increasing the number & types of services. Most other areas are still struggling to even get blueprints ready. Thus, we seem to have many attractive buildings put up haphazardly & with poor lighting in BMTC's Rome.

Modernised Hubli Railway Station & Local Train

Bengaluru’s first Bus Day gives filip to public transport

The idea was proposed by a citizens’ community and became a reality through BMTC. An additional 10,000 Bangaloreans hopped on and off buses on ‘Bus Day’, according to one estimate.

To link your Twitter account:

  • go to 'My account',
  • choose 'edit' and click on 'Twitter Accounts' tab.
  • Fill in your Twitter id and Twitter password. We need your Twitter password to make posts on your behalf.
  • Rest assured that the passwords will be stored securely and are not accessible to any users, including the admins.
