BMTC can make use of simple technologies to attract more commuters

Whole of current week I have been choosing Bus instead of my Car for commuting to office.  Here is been my experience and suggestions for BMTC.

Best solution to namma trafficu!

Recently the Govt of India has constituted the Kirit Parikh Committee to deregulate prices of petroleum products (diesel, petrol, kerosene, LPG).

Volvo bus routes information

I am interested in creating a complete database of Volvo routes (each stop on each route along with timing info) in Bangalore. How/Where do I get this information ? I already have a lot of information from your bus day route map. I really appreciate this effort. I do see Volvo buses which are not in your map.

PPP of politics

After Public Private Participation PPP the Politics Personalities Parties PPP discussed in an earlier thread was interesting. I am with the “Prajagalu” as far as the abysmal speed with which things are progressing in our country’s politics as much we would like it in a hurry.

Right model from the left?

When even die-hard Socialists seem to be reconciled to letting perennially sick public sector units (PSUs) being either privatised or left to waste away, Kerala is showing another way. The Department of Law, GoK, had remained silent for 4 years. It now has advised BMICAPA that the BMIC project needs its approval and must pay betterment fees. As thing stand BMIC has neither sought approval nor has paid any fees, which run into "hundreds of crores". So what exactly is BMIC willing to do?

Don’t teach English to your children in Class I

Global research shows that children should learn reading and writing in their mother tongue first. Only after they can read fluently at a minimum of 45-60 words per minute can they absorb what they are reading. Such fluency is most easily achieved in the mother tongue. Once that is established, learning a second language becomes much easier.

Last Mile Connectivity for bus day

I have not seen the voting results but I am sure last mile connectivity will be one of the biggest bottlenecks for people to use public transport.  Well the obvious choice would be auto rickshaw.
