What a contrast? Where we all are going gaga over how India has progressed since 1990's economic liberlization. Yes indeed we have moved on and made progress. But still there is large chunk of population that is still to get its due opportunity of decent life.

Are TTMCs really what they are claimed to be ?

"TTMCs have proved to be quite a money-spinner for the transport department. Taking a cue from this, the government is now planning to set up similar centres in Mysore, Mangalore, Udupi, Shimoga, Hubli, Dharvad and other places.

Drive against Hoardings- Birdthday wishes etc - misuse of tax money by BBMP

Hi Folks, Hoardings on Birthday anniversaries greetings of an MLA or a corporator has become rampant oflate. It looks very ugly and disalarming that no action has been taken up either by High court or no move has been addressed to stop such practise. Instead of wasting our tax money on such useless purpose, why cannot they be properly managed in providing basic civic amenties.

Shanthinagar - TTMC

BusPublic Transport

This morning I was passing by Shanthinagar & noticed the full fledge arrangements for the TTMC opening today & my bus was also not allowed to enter the bus stand. Noticed the TTMC work is far from completion but the inguration was scheduled today. I still dont understand the Shanthinagar bus stand currently is just in line with a Jayanagar or Kengeri TTMC.

BBMP's bike lanes on tree lines

Now BBMP wants to lay a 5.15-km-long bike lane which, it believes, jauntily pedalling commuters would use to merrily ride to work and cycle enthusiasts would find their path to recreation for which the civic body also wants to fell over 850 trees in the name of road widening around the outer perimeter of Bangalore’s historic Palace Ground.

Motorcycles kill more than BMTC buses?

EnforcementTraffic

An interesting stat in the data sets from Traffic police - despite all the negative talk about BMTC drivers (tabloids love it), motor cycles accidents result in more deaths on city roads than BMTC buses. Further, tractors cause more deaths on city roads than taxis and maxi cabs combined. So much for the yellow plate trash talk :)
