Green buildings - a crtique on IGBC's approach

The following is the letter addressed to Shri Prem C Jain, Chairman, IGBC (Indian Green Building Council), CII – Sohrabji Godrej Green Building Centre, Hyderabad, by Jaigopal.G.Rao, Principal Designer and Managing partner of ‘Inspiration’ (www.inspire-india.com), and an architect by training.

Needed - A Kukkarahallikere Lake Authority ( KLA)

The   name Kukkanahalli Kere  at once brings in the names of R.K Narayan and KUVEMPU  who spent their evenings watching the sunset  while writing some of their best literary works. Thousands of strollers over generations have enjoyed the serene beauty of the lake having their walk around the lake and improved their health.

BMTC and possible open-market proposals or experiments

We are coming off from this debate. Idea is to leave the debate, and talk specific proposals.

Cyclothon in bangalore

In the last week or so i have been observing full page ads about a cyclothon in bangalore sometime on october.  Seems interesting, atleast finally the need for encouraging cycling has been realized.  More details about the event can be found  here.  We should use this as a push for bicyc

Monthly praja meeting- September 2009

Meeting regarding BMTC

There is a tentative meeting on how we can arrange a one day event like bus day etc.

We would be meeting on Monday (14th Sept) Koramangala around 6:30 PM. Mithila from BMTC would be joining this meeting as well and will help us in whichever way possible.

All those who would be interested to come please let me know. Once the time and venue is finalized I will inform everyone.

Lakes, environment etc, pictures tell this better. Assuming google earth has accurate satellite pics, sample some lakes, and how they may have changed in the nine years from 2000 and 2009.
