A group of active citizens (via HU email list) has come forward to put up what they are calling the "Jana Pranalike" or "People's Manifesto" to be placed before the candidates/ parties contesting the forth-coming BBMP elections.

UID Challenge

The UIDAI contemplates certain challenging situations that it might face in the implementation of the project to the public. This is the first in that series. The UIDAI is going to face many challenging situations and we would like to invite solutions from the public for these challenges.

The present challenge is related to the "Introducer System" which has been detailed out in the Demographic Data Standards and verification procedure Committee report in the Committees tab of the website. UID Introducer Problem

Unique ID Authority of India has been mandated to give Unique IDs to the residents of this country. The way a person gets his/her ID will broadly work as follows:

New life for works coordination; nascent effort underway

It’s a first for Bengaluru. Stung by criticism, local authorities and the traffic police claim they will now coordinate select public works using a simple one-page agreement.

The GoK has released a draft Urban Development policy for Karnataka on 14.11.2009 for public comments and inputs. The same may be accessed here. The period for inputs ends on 15.12.09. Surprisingly, it has come the attention of the civil society only now.
