Lapse of funds
Mr. Moily said in 2007-08, Rs 100 crore out of the sanctioned Rs. 500 crore allocated for Karnataka had lapsed and surrendered to the Railway Ministry due to delay by the State Government in the acquisition of land for various projects.
The State Government was answerable for this lapse, he added.
I am just following to check if any single tenders have been awarded for the same and whats the progress on utilising the above allotment of funds. How do we avoid the recurring of lapse. Now that we have two months for the railway budget. Will this fund flow over to the next budget.

"Expedite land acquisition for Hassan rail'
HASSAN: JD(S) Legislature Party leader HD Revanna on Monday urged the Union and state governments to expedite land acquisition for the Hassan-Bangalore railway line project.
The 172-km Hassan-Bangalore railway line project was sanctioned in 1996 during HD Deve Gowda's tenure as prime minister. The line will pass through Shravanabelagola, Yediyur, Kunigal and Nelamagala.
"Land acquisition has been completed in the district and the track has been laid between Hassan and Shravanabelagola.
The process is pending in Tumkur district only," Revanna said.
Revanna said that notifications were issued in Mandya district, where the railway line passes, when he was Hassan district in- charge minister.
The work so far
Work on the line between Bangalore and Solur has been completed. New line has to be laid from Solur to Yediyur via Kunigal and from Kunigal to Hassan district border.
There is already a railway line between Bangalore and Nelamangala (Bangalore- Hubli line).
Land has to be acquired between Solur and Yediyur and from Yediyur to Hassan district border for laying 45-km railway track.
