Urban development - the skill gap

Time for a boring post. A habitual visitor to MoUD website, I was waiting to put up a small summary of a policy paper that showed up recently. Its called "Capacity building scheme for urban ...". If that was all greek and latin to you, jump to section 3 (page 9) on that pdf, and under "specific capacity gaps", find things that you and me complain about everyday - they don't know how to plan, how to run projects, how to handle public relations etc etc etc.

The Real Problem

But not a single politician spoke of the real problem. There can be no change unless India is able to strengthen not its laws, as we have more than enough of these its security network. Mumbai - is it time?

Who is not stunned? Writing more about the incident from terrorism angle will lead to needless rambling. I have only one question to ask, from the angle of law and order. Isn't it time for Police Reforms, and overhaul of our internal security systems?

THE COMPLAINT

The City’s inhabitants have been subject to unscientific methods of traffic control & regulation that are relentlessly being pursued by the responsible authorities. This has seriously jeopardized pedestrian safety & movement on the streets.

Access to the Byappanahalli TTMC

From Praja_posts
The success of the planned Byappanahalli TTMC and all the opportunities it offers as an inter-modal hub (KSRTC, BMTC, Namma Metro) will be determined by ease of access.

Healthy Bangaloreans might go extinct by 2020

MYSORE: Bangalore will not have any healthy people left in 15 years if the government fails to arrest soaring pollution levels in both urban and rural levels. This grim warning came from Vision Group 2020, a panel comprising of eminent personalities from the state, constituted for making Karnataka a developed state.

Accident nation

There was a report in today's TOI on accidents in India. 125,000 people lost their lives in India in road accidents. India tops the list in road deaths in the world.
