We got delayed due to unavoidable reasons, but the concept paper on Bus Priority System (BPS) for Bengaluru is now nearing completion. Find attached a draft version, look forward to comments from those familiar with BRT and related concepts. Our goal is to prepare a crisp document that would provide a picture of what BPS is and how it can be applied to our arterial routes.

Create excellent, world-class school textbooks in Kannada in maths and science. Encourage students to take part in Kannada events. Kannada must be made attractive to children, but not by shutting off some other language.

Though it was a bit disappointing to see no-show / last minute drop-out from at least 5 guys, we enjoyed strolling around an almost empty city station on Sunday morning. Sanjeev (our resident Railways expert), Sathya, Srivatsava, Murali sir, dvsquare and myself walked end to end. Took some pics as well, here are some:

 The NMT task force setup under DULT met for its first meeting today. This task force was constituted vide government order DULT/117/ADM 2010-11. Praja was represented by Myself & Srinidhi. We presented the call to action report on CBD intermodal bicycle connectivityprepared with inputs collated via various blogs/discussions on Praja.in.

 Hazratganj, is the MG road of Lucknow – I visited recently since the wife is from Lucknow. I loved the old world feel of the city with its eco friendly cycle rickshaws, old stores, familiar bookstores etc – the cold north Indian December weather added to the “good feeling” but what really got me impressed was a brave project – the Hazrathganj makeover!
