BIAL Trumphet interchange: work started

If you already did not know, when the International airport will be complete, you dont have to wait in a signal at NH 7 to enter or leave the airport. If you have seen the chaos at the Arrival and Departure roads at current HAL airport, you will appreciate the problem.

Well, in all its foresight, BIAL did plan for a trumphet interchange that should help you smoothly glide on and off NH7 to reach the airport.

Hindu reports  that foundation stone has been laid for the interchange and work is supposed to begin on 28th June 2007. Keep visiting the BIAL tracking page for updates on the progress.

Update: Tarlesubba rectifies my ambiguous statement about the purpose of the interchange. Yes, the interchange will help you decongest NH7 and does not straight-away lead you to the terminal. Airport is still 4 kms from NH7. Thanks tarle!

the trumpet is to ease bottlenecks on the highway. from there you have to travel about 3-4 kms east on a 2x2 road to get to the terminal.
