How many vehicles are registered in the city?

There is an article (in the hard copy only) dated 29/1/2013 Metrolife section of Deccan Herald. It has a table showing the total number of vehicles registered in the city for 2012. Here is the breakdown per the article:

2-whllers - 77,37,366

3-wheelers - 28,54,08

4-wheelers - 12,69,430

The present Jeevan Bima Nagar stands on the 460 acres land allotted by BDA to Life Insurance Corporation housing society way back in 1966. LIC colony as it is called now has model houses built and distributed by LIC of India to policy holders. Each applicant had to give a deposit of Rs10000/- along with application.

Light Rail at grade..too bold?

As we have seen there seems to be some activity around building light rail as a feeder to metro(Bannerghatta rd - Hebbal). For some historic reasons The Bangalore Airport Rail Link (BARL) Ltd is actually working on the DPR for it.
