Save Race Course Campaign
As you are aware that the government is keen on shiftng the Bangalore Turf Club from its present location.
Though this move is welcome, there seems to be an ulterior motive for this move, because the government
plans to convert this huge space into concrete jungle.
Now we have the Race course which is the lung space in the centre of the city, if this lung space is destroyed for the
selfish motives of several individuals, it should be stopped.
We need to take immeidate action in generating a public opinion against this move and restore the space of
race course and convert it into a beautiful park with lots of greenery.
As the roads of Bangalore are choked, we cannot have another disaster awaiting in the centre of the city, if we allow
huge sky scrapers to come in the place of race course.
I would urge all the members of this forum to participate in this campaign, make people aware of the disasters
if we allow the encroachment of Race course.
As the heritage parks of Bangalore like the cubbon park and lalbagh is now in serious danger as they are encroached
and used for construction, at the cost of the greenery.
we need to collectively take action to stop the move by government to convert Race course into a concrete jungle.
Thanks and Regards

Yes, we must protect the lung spaces in CBD..look at links
Dear Suresh
we all should take care of Namma Bengaluru. We do not know for whose sake the development is taking place. But we are all Indians and we need development as an on going process. But isn't there some sort of limit?
Have a look at the following links..

Let us keep up the pressure to retain the meagre lung spaces like Race Course and Golf Grounds for posterity. Well known environmentalists like Guha, Heblikar and others have voiced their concern and expressed their resentment as per media reports. All of us are environmentalists at grassroots level...so, let us keep up the pressure.
