To ensure speedy implementation of road overbridge (RoB) and road underbridge (RuB) projects at railway level crossings, the State government has recently accorded sanction to 60 proposed RoBs and RuBs in the State, including 12 in Bangalore, in one go.

The 80’ road in Indiranagar is a main road between HAL II and III stages, which are the two BDA developed localities of 1970s. Currently this road is witnessing a spurt of commercial activity. New posh commercial buildings are coming up on both sides. There is a big wide [approx 6’and 5’ depth] storm water drain along one side of the road.

Today while stopping at a signal in Veerasandra Cross/ Hosur Road Junction a transgender approached me for her(his) due.  Usually I wont turn up. Today I wanted to talk to him(her). So I offered Rs.10 as a talking fee :). I casually asked if he(she) would interested to help traffic control. The answer was positive but she(he) was hopeless that anyone would co-operate by seeing them.

Background

BBMP listed 217 roads to be widened. This has caused much worry among citizens as it entails widespread destruction of both greenery & property. Why do so many roads need to be widened? What are the characteristics of congestion on this road? What are the traffic patterns on these roads?

As we have talked a lot about public transport as well as pedestrian friendly infrastructure, many of Prajagalu's must be aware of the fact that thousands of people cross the road in front of EGL campus/DELL office on Inner Ring Road, Domlur. Still there is no safe way and no right of way for the pedestrians.

No bus to majestic on ORR

BMTC must put more buses from ORR to Majestic. There are no direct bus from bellandur, ORR, iblur, etc to Majestic. Only one bus -342F from Sarjapur runs which comes like one bus in one hour. Also now BMTC have put only Orange-Marcopolo bus and removed all normal buses.

 

Extend K3 service to HSR Layout

As we all know K3 bus runs from koramangala. This bus can be extended till Parangipalya which is just 3 stops from KML. This way all HSR layout residents will get direct bus to jayanagar, vijayanagar, iskcon,etc places.

 

So can anyone suggest this to BMTC to extend K3 service till Parangipalya bus stop.

I want to start a project where i am able to implement bus route maps in the form of glowing ( for night) signages which are clear, visible, depicting 'where you are' and the nearby bus routes from the stop to main stops in bangalore.

Let us meet on Wed June 29 (updated), at 5.30 PM bang at the Marathahalli ring road junction to capture the chaos and neglect of pedestrians, most of whom are bus commuters. Venue of meeting - , right at the corner on Old Airport/Varthur Road where buses coming from Whitefield turn left towards Ring Road.
