Media report card on just concluded Bus Day initiative!

Here is a media reports round up of the Bus Day initiative we triggered and participated in. Good coverage all around, and going by some of the reports (25% jump in ridership, breather on some corridors etc), looks like the city has made a good beginning. The event is likely to become a permanent fixture on BMTC's and Bengaluru's calendar. Lets hope BMTC will act fast on all the feedback the event generated for them.

Lead poisoning a silent threat is spreading - lack of awareness. GOI got LEAD FREE petrol all INDIA since 2000 for this reason. Only one remedy AVOID EXPOSURE. Mother to child transfer in the womb ensures this last for generations. Has many pathways it can enter your body. PAINT is one.

First of all, my sincere thanks to all the Praja members who worked very hard to publicize this event wide and far. Result is that it has reached more than 40k population in IT companies just by Praja efforts alone. Today's news papers are full with Bus Day buzz and Praja is being given credit for its excellent web presence and information.

Bus Day survey on BMTC

So may be you would try a Bus on the Bus day. And perhaps, you would return disappointed. Or it could be that come Bus day or Fuss day, you just can't get yourself to try BMTC for your commute. Either way, join in and take this short and simple survey and tell BMTC about Bus Commute experience or lack of it.

BMTC launching Local Loop Services on Bus Day

Good news. BMTC will be launching local loop bus services on February 4, the first Bus Day for Bengaluru. "Whitefield Sarige" will be running loops in Whitefield suburban area covering Marathahalli, Brookfields, ITPL, Hope Farm, Whitefield Market, Varthur Road etc. A similar service will connect various points inside Electronics City.

Volvo bus routes information

I am interested in creating a complete database of Volvo routes (each stop on each route along with timing info) in Bangalore. How/Where do I get this information ? I already have a lot of information from your bus day route map. I really appreciate this effort. I do see Volvo buses which are not in your map.
