Hazardous installations

This picture was taken on the footpath opposite Aadishwar showroom on the intermediate ring road (some 50M before the start of the Domlur fly-over ramp - approaching from Koramangala side). While such instances are not isolated across the city, what I found unique about this particular installation was its cross-arm covering almost the entire width of the footpath.

Shiradi Ghats dirt track

Some ten days back, I accompanied my brother to Mangalore, in his car, essentially to attend a family function. The drive out of Bangalore, on a Friday afternoon, was fairly smooth, once we were on the elevated expressway. The signages are still not quite proper, leading to our missing the turning to Hassan (onto NH-48) at Nelamangala, and the resulting detour and half hour time wastage.

No recognition to gated enclaves

In response to a query under the Right to Information , the Bangalore Development Authority and the Bangalore Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (BMRDA) have said that their rules had no provision for a “gated community”. Further, it is also learnt that the local Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike also does not recognise the concept.

Why signal free ride for Air travelers alone?

Why is it road users to Railway station are denied signal free comfort while the same is being given to air travelers which has only made flyovers which are never used by any bus, auto or scooters?

(Reference made to Signal Free work going on for NH7 till Devanahalli)
