Forcing medium of instruction - High Court verdict

What does praja say on the call made by the high court? Refer "kannada medium not must" for private schools.

At times it seems that Bangalore citizens have forgotten that their government schools exist.

More than half of the schools in Bangalore are private unaided schools, while in the entire state of Karnataka, 81% of schools are government schools. Government schools are seen as a school of last resort, and face high dropout. Children who do survive government schooling often end up without basic skills -- reading, writing, and arithmetic. Still, there are more than 200,000 children attending government schools in our city.

Finally, a plan/proposal/idea that shows some clear out of the box thinking and goes beyond the currently fashionable gospels of maintenance, sustenance and development models. In rediscovering the original purpose of many of these man-made lakes of bangalore - as a source of potable water - bwssb might have hit upon a truely sustainable 'novel' idea to save our lakes.

BBMP needs some lessons on Waste Management

It has been reported in Yesterday's(9-Jun) Deccan Herald that BBMP's contractors are dumping sold waste, including harmful Bio waste in the serene surroundings of Bannerghatta National Park. The report even says that the contractors are paying some persons Rs 200 per day to buy their silence.
