Bus Day campaign needs a catchier name -Suggest One

Praja Site will run an exclusive campaign for the upcoming Feb 4th Bus Day event. It would be nice if we can give a catchy name to the campaign. Some suggestions are:

  1. Take the Bus
  2. EE DINA BUS DINA

Do you have any more suggestions to the list?

Notes from Bus day meeting - tentative work plan

4 of us had a quick meeting yesterday (over skype, that is Praja style :) ) and here is what we talked:

First thing - we need help, involves mostly phone/online work, so wont take much of your time.

Take the bus - Feb 4

4 Feb 2010
Asia/Calcutta

Simple event with simple goals. Take the bus for your commute on Feb 4. Try it, and then tell the world (via a survey) why you wouldn't take the bus more often for your commute and solve two problems for the city - congestion, and air pollution.

Bus Day - Website features/Requirements

While the event webpage will surely be used to park and convey lot of publicity and information amterial about the event, what are the other features that need to be incorporated in the webpage? Provide your thoughts here.

[PS: Also, if you have ideas, or want to help BMTC organize this event, join the Bus Day project on this website]

Feb 4th, 2010 - Is the BUS DAY in namma Bengaluru!

It is finally here. Feb 4th, 2010 is being planned by BMTC to be 'BUS DAY'. A day long event.

All that we need to do is take the Bus on that day to work, business and any other engagements that we might have on that day.

Isn't it a good idea. Start the new year with a promise to build sustainable living choices.

Co op Hope Gone: Will Bangalore deliver - Bus Day?

Summary: Copenhagen failed in spite of the fact that world leader came to the summit. They did not agree to Cooperate on the hope of saving the planet. But the big question is for Bangalore, will Bangalore deliver on its part.  Will Bangalore contribute to prove its point?

Bus Priority System or partial-BRT for Bengaluru?

Why don't we take the bus? Ask around, or read past polls and discussions here for some common answers. But this one thing is amongst the top reasons - the bus doesn't go any faster than my bike/car, it in fact takes longer. Those of us who actually use the Vajra buses for commuting do so mostly for speed first, comfort later.

Group to help conceptualize, plan and market a Bus Day event for BMTC
Initiator:
Praja RAAG

This workgroup helped BMTC to conceptualize, plan and market a monthly Bus Day event starting February 2010. The thought for Bus Day was seeded during the Mobilicity-2009 event organized by Praja.in in November 2009, and then taken forward with active support from various public transport lovers of Bengaluru, BMTC, Traffic Police, KSPCB, ORRCA, members of praja.in community and others.

Solution Traffic Problem

Summary: Recently I was thinking of possible reasons and solutions of the problem of traffic. I did a small survey and collected opinion from the people from various ages. I also observed working of Volvo service in bangalore.
