BMTC Drivers issuing used tickets

Many BMTC Drivers and conductors (Mainly ordinary, pushpak and suvarna) are issuing used tickets. It works like this: I buy a ticket for say 30 Rs. Say I do not have change and I hand over Rs. 100 to the conductor/driver then he writes at the top on the back side of one ticket the amount he has to return me back (Rs 70).

New Buses for our City Good but Where is Infrastructure?

Good News is BMTC will have more buses on the road as the below news article in todays newspaper, But where is the relevant Infrastructure planned for this launch.

1.The roads are still narrow.

2.The Bus Depots are still under construction or tenders are just out.

3.The routes are not planned to run this 1000 odd buses.

Idea for Bus day event - bus only corridors?

For the bus day, one of the things in discussion is to block a few corridors and allow only buses. Does anyone have any idea which corridors can be used? Also there should be a possible diversion for the cars and auto etc to go.

It would be very helpful if it can be mapped on a google map.

No Volvo bus services for Mathikere

Introduction of Vajra services in Bangalore has been one of phenomenal step taken by BMTC. It has really helped lot of people especially women to travel with ease in Bangalore. BMTC has introduced lot of Volvo buses with appropriate frequencies for most of the areas in Bangalore. Its obviously an elcome step.

Quite a damning report on BMTC's irresponsible practices. I think quite a bit of discussion has taken place around this.
