I have noticed metro soil testing at various locations in Bangalore this month.

Mid-last year, there was one round of soil testing done and the DPR for Phase-2 was to be out in aug/Sep 2009. Seems like thats still pending.

Bengaluru is in the threshold of becoming a megapolis but it is not able to handle the ever increasing road traffic. The infrastructure is just not sufficient to handle the unprecedented growth in the number of vehicles on road. I would like to participate in issues related to improving traffic management in Bengaluru city.

 While I was travelling to Electronic City I witnessed this scene in BMTC bus. Suddenly I recalled praja.in,  where I read "Yatha Praja Tatha Raja". I had neither any comments nor any solution except I alerted conductor. The "gentleman" corrected himself after two warnings from conductor.

This report in DH states that the Scomi Engineering /Geodesic Techiques tie up is pitching for Bangalore Monorail on BOT basis (build, own, transfer), whose first phase of execution will see $2.4 billion investment.

There has been a lot of topics going on regarding the disconnected Ring Road routes of Bangalore and problem in changing buses. But it is not the ordinary bus users but generally Volvo bus users who face this problem.

Ring Road is not actually disconnected. Following routes imply it:

A DH article dated 19-Nov-2009 stated that Metro Phase-2 would have two routes: one from Kathriguppe to ITPL, & the other from IIM-B to Nagawara.
