One of the problems that Bangaloreans facing is the distance to the new International Airport. Everyone talks about how far this is from City. Certainly this is a problem in the broader sense. The problem can be easily solved at least for some parts of Bangalore. Whitefield is one of the hot suburbs of Bangalore with so much IT industry focussed in that area. The IT industry folks use the airport heavily on a daily basis. Currently there are roads from Whitefield that go close to the Airport Access road via Budigere. However, the small connection to the Airport Access road is missing from Budegere side and all vehicles are forced to go around the airport up north to Devanahalli and come back down to get to BIAL. This is adding at least 15KMs to the drive to airport, which doesn't make sense. Why can't this small connection be taken up by the Civic Authorities as a priority. This makes drive to airport about 30 to 45 minutes from the North East side of Bangalore rather than the current hour+. The first time when I went in a Taxi to airport this way - I thought taxi fellow is taking me for a ride!
