We've made it to the New York Times!

Congratulations folks, we have made it to the New York Times, which gives an indirect reference to prominent "civic lobbies"!

No, not us

"Today, with air traffic likely to keep growing, an influential civic lobby is pushing for both airports to operate. Bangalore City Connect, a private industry-financed group that advocates for better urban infrastructure, said failing to plan for future growth would only add to Bangalore’s woes."

They mention CityConnect. But unlike TOI recently, they at least describe them the right way - "private industry-financed group."

Weren't we too pushing for both to be open !? We did have a comprehensive debate, with arguments put forward from all sides.

However, there is some way to go before we get to be called influential. With the power of collaboration and soon to start action groups, and our open and interactive nature, we will get there. What say!?

Bull's Eye !

No, we are not there yet, but if we continue along this path without deviating or taking sides, & make a difference, we will arrive at "being influential" soon enough !

keeping it real.

random quazi-filosofical rant. making an impact is just a symptom. the real disease that i hope we are aiming to develop is being a platform of sustained awareness, voice and impact. and a platform that gives the random guy on the street a chance to be the "prominent citizen". media works on market/glitz. box office status and market capitalization of a created brand does not automatically make anybody a star/expert in any civic field. there are lay people who could be maritime navigators, retired executives, school teachers, or whatever else they do earn their akki & rotti who perhaps donot have the glitz but have real insights. irrespective of the times and issues ordinary citizens have to play a role.
