Gyan

Here is our collective wisdom, or Praja Gyan. Think of it as local "wiki" feature. Any registered Praja.in member can edit and create Wikis (see the site menu, find "create wiki" link). Gyan is also created via "Project Wiki", which is the tool that members of Praja Projects use to share knowledge. Also, all the "wikis", or even existing discussions that you like can be "outlined" under a structure that is called as "books". If a wiki or blog you read has been outlined under a book, that book will be displayed alongside.

Some general guidelines for creating gyan

  • Try to use quality material from related discussions on Praja to create gyan.
  • Provide as many references as possible. If adapting content from a book, mention name and author.
  • Copy-pasting from sources other than government websites? Think twice, and don't! For ex: don't copy news articles. Instead use what you learn from several related articles to create gyan, and provide paper/media site name and dates in a reference section at bottom if you remember them.
  • Words like "I" and "we" are a no no. You should be posting a discussion instead.
  • Most important, don't just create gyan. Edit and fix existing gyan if you find its incorrect or violating above guidelines.

Praja.in comment guidelines

Posting Guidelines apply for comments as well. No foul language, hate mongering or personal attacks. If criticizing third person or an authority, you must be fact based, as constructive as possible, and use gentle words. Avoid going off-topic no matter how nice your comment is. Moderators reserve the right to either edit or simply delete comments that don't meet these guidelines. If you are nice enough to realize you violated the guidelines, please save Moderators some time by editing and fixing yourself. Thanks!
