So I did it, in fact twice now. Entered xxxE, knowing fully well that fare to my destination was Rs 6. Took out two 2 rupee coins - no ticket given, no questions asked. Next, I tried this in a Volvo xxxC. Was a bit nervous doing it, and must tell you that I succeeded only in my third attempt at this. Entered the bus, and when conductor passed by asking for tickets, I ignored him.

Saw this metro tender in newspapers last week that read: "Construction of Elevated Structures (Via Duct) from RV Road station (excluding Viaduct portion) up to Puttenahalli cross (including) and Construction of 3 Nos of Elevated Metro Stations in Reach-4 extension on South Side".

Background on Nandan Nilekani's appointment to head UID project!

The appointment of Infy's Nandan nilekani as the head of India's UID project did not came out of the blue. It seems PM got the wind of NN's own writings that talked about providing Unique ID to all Indian citizens. It is not surprising that UPA government is linking the UID to the better delivery of social programs. We all felt the need for a ID system for our own needs like voting, Driving License, Passports etc, but UPA government has taken the leaf out of NN's own thinking which he wrote in his book "Imagining India: Ideas for the New Century"  and linked it to the governance and social justice. Last evening I noticed contractors starting to work on Mysore Road Station. BMRC's June NewsLetter claims to have awarded most (if not all - I didn't count) of Metro Station related works.
