CONCERN (a student body in the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore), is hosting a convention in IISc, Bangalore on 7th November titled "The War Within: The Maoists, The Tribals and The State". We would like to invite you to the same. We  plan to screen documentaries, presentations, petitions, hold panel talks and host a photo exhibition.

BMTC Drivers issuing used tickets

Many BMTC Drivers and conductors (Mainly ordinary, pushpak and suvarna) are issuing used tickets. It works like this: I buy a ticket for say 30 Rs. Say I do not have change and I hand over Rs. 100 to the conductor/driver then he writes at the top on the back side of one ticket the amount he has to return me back (Rs 70).

Poor design of flyovers lead us nowhere in solving traffic problems

 All over Bangalore, there is a galore of small small flyovers and now underpasses. But, none of them are constructed with thorough thought process and planning behind it. Usual mode of construction of flyover is to have 4 exit ramps and 4 entry ramps in semicircles like we have seen in foreign countries as well as in our NICE Somapura road junction.

Unpaid traffic fines - a survey

Was checking if there were any fines against my car's number at www.btis.in.  None.  Then I decided to do a random sampling of cars on unpaid fines.

Did a random sample of 100 cars across the 5 RTOs for unpaid violations and fine amounts.  This would be fairly representative as the number is quite large for a sample.
