Thanks a bunch
For setting this up.
Buses less after 10:30 AM
After 10:30 AM, buses to ITPL and EC especially Volvos are very very less. We earlier had 500K every 30 minutes. Now after 10:30, we don't get even a single 500K almost upto 12:30 or so. Most of the 500Ks on the return end their journey in Banashankari Bus Stand. This causes lot of inconvenience.
Yesterday also I had to literally wait 45 minutes to get 500K standing from 10:45 to 11:30. Then took a 201R to Silkboard and a 500D for onward journey.
Second problem is frequency of 500K after 7PM. It is very less and we cannot get even standing space in whichever bus that comes.
Please take up these two issues and make ITPL buses frequency to be consistent especially 500K.
Dedicated lanes near crowded signals
We had talked about trying out dedicated lanes (or bus priority lanes) either just before some signals, or in select 50-100 meter stretches that tend to be very crowded.
The thought was to try this as an experiement during the bus day and get feedback from commuters. The hope is that bus users will love it enough to tide over the protests from car/bike-users. But we will never know till we try once or twice.

From Banashankari to ITPL there has been poor planning by BMTC. Up to 10:30AM you do not have any ordinary buses to ITPL but a volvo in a frequency of 10 buses passing in 20 minutes(500C,K,KB,KR,KS). In the oppposite direction you have good frequency of ordinaries passing at this time(502,MBS-24.C-4). whereas at the same time you have quite mixed blend of both ordinaries and volvoes running between Banashankari and Electronic city. I tried mailing bMTC regarding the same but did not get any response. Both issues must be sorted out.
volvo running on ITPL routes must not be of general shift but a double shift volvo. BMTC can actually run volvoes in evening times and rest it in the afternoon times when the crowd on these buses is quit less.
corridors or short stretches

This was tried on KG road many times many years ago but it didnt work because people refused to adhere just for a short stretch and it became messy because the traffic wasnt sorted out appropriately early enough. Of course signage wasnt adequate in those tinmes. The flow will be more effective if we go the whole hog and put a lot at stake.
