Unnecessary Traffic Jams at Graphite India Jn

Hi All, I'm one of the regular commuters who has to cross the infamous and extremely narrow Graphite India traffic junction at EPIP, Whitefield for more than 7 years now. Ofcourse the number of companies have multiplied in EPIP, for which this is the Only entry point for 90% of the commuters who come from the city. Rest 10% come from the other side of the road, i.e. the ITPL side.

Dear Friends

Starting from today, we have planned Bike Rallies across Bangalore until Aug15th. Please see the below Schedule.

Leading by example

Seeing the used plastic cups, lying amongst other waste, in a bin, Dr Meenakshi Bharath, the SWM evangelist, dramatically bent down and started picking up the cups one by one with bare hands. This was at lunch time following the meeting of RWA's, convened by the Namma Bengaluru Foundation last Saturday, at the Koramangala Club.

Trams option for Bangalore?

Hi all, have we considered the Trams option for Bangalore?

Clearly, on our narrow and super busy Indian roads, Trams seem unviable. However, we should probably consider them for the suburbs being developed. What about Trams in Electronic City or from EC to Silk Board?

New Bangalore coming up at Bidadi - how and when?

Back in Mr Sudhir Krishna's days, there used to be a buzz about BMRDA. Remember the talk of satellite towns, satellite town ring roads, and the 7 'proposed' satellite townships. Part of the buzz is back with Bidadi integrated township project. Mind you, its a PPP to develop a 9000+ acre township.

Some handy tourism stats - entry count at Hampi etc

Its generally pretty hard to get stats on domestic tourism. The subject needs to be of high interest to us as many believe that domestic tourism is one of the things that can help close the urban rural, or big city-hinterland gap. And we are talking Karnataka, with solid tourism potential, and huge base of Bangalore to tap into.

New Notification on Fire Safety

Mr Uday Vijayan of "Beyond Carlton", who is working with 'Namma Bengaluru Foundation' to further the Fire Safety message sent me these copies of the latest (7th July, '11) notification issued by the Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services wing of the Home Department.

Srinivagilu village road motorability

The Srinivagilu village road, which is an ideal link to Intermediate Ring Road (IRR) for S T Bed layout residents heading towards Indiranagar side, is becoming more and more unmotorable. The road, which was concreted a few years back, has got dug up at so many places along the length and breadth, resulting in its reverting to a regular village road, once again.
