I noticed some discussions on Roof Top Solar PV System for residences. I would like to share my experience and assumptions.

I have installed a SPV system on my roof top as a back up to grid supply 4 years ago, and is functioning satisfactorily although some improvements in the overall operation of the system is desirable and achievable.

Through our personal experiences here, and after hearing from a few professionals and tech guys in the field, we have some understanding of hurdles and possibilities here, on increasing adoption of Solar Power. Are govt agencies doing enough to 1) promote this as "green" power, 2) use Solar as a way to fill the supply shortage? We don't know.

Have been out of Bangalore for the past 2 years.  My last long visit was in June 2011.  Namma Metro opened after that.  Am here this week and so decided to try it out with the family (we are all patrons of public transport).  

The BDA has proposed a six-lane bi-directional flyover from Le Meridien to Cauvery junction, all the way up to CBI junction on Bellary Road.

The Fukushima crisis is eroding years of Japanese efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as power plants running on oil and natural gas fill the electricity gap left by now-shuttered nuclear reactors. Before last year's crisis, Japan had planned to meet its carbon emissions reduction targets on the assumption that it would rely on nuclear power, a low-emissions source of energy.

This is a hot topic now, as drivers all over Bangalore are peeling off the cooling films from their cars.  of course, this is happening all over India as well, following the recent Supreme Court ruling. I went ahead and read through the ruling to understand the logic behind the decision taken.  It is a 15 page ruling, and in my opinion, a very poor piece of work.

Hello Everyone, If you haven't experienced or haven't heard about this, there was a horrible traffic pile up on Wednesday morning on ORR underpass near the Cisco Offices and Prestige Tech Park. Because of the huge rain on Tuesday night, water accumulated at the bottom of the underpass and literally the water was a couple of inches short of knee deep.
