Folks, the legislative committee is inviting public participation and information submission, on November 13th, at Jnana Jyoti, Central College (State Bank of Mysore junction on KG Road towards Maharani's College).

Is anyone at Praja planning on participating in this meeting or submitting information ? If yes, can we please prepare any information that needs submission, plan a strategy, coordinate, and execute it.

Thanks in advance.

Devesh,
I know it is too much for person like me sitting in one corner of the world to ask somebody to do on his behalf. But suggesting something fruitful will always be helpful. I am sure the committee would get every and anything against BIAL from CA to worst than bust stand comparison. Suggestions that would be more helpful and would do the common souls at BIAL a big fvaor. Is it possible that you could present them the inadequacies you have found in BIAL in your last visit in important areas?:
  1. The provision for shuttle service inside the BIA for employees, contractors and vendors to commute from/to terminal and cargo area. This is a common practice in all airports internationally.
  2. Restroom and Canteen facilities for all other employees, contractors and vendors who are not covered by BIAL canteen.
  3. Access to BIA from other sides other than NH-4 (Bellary Road)

Devesh, I noticed that the meeting has been set for Nov 13 at Central College. Is this a reschedule of earlier meeting or 2nd in series?

Meeting for public feedback, but public is unware of the meeting postponement. This meeting was canceled and rescheduled for Nov 13, without any public notice.

If this is the state of affairs by our elected representatives, you can well imagine the tone and impact of this probe committee.

I went to the JHC hearing.

Many people were there from all walks of life. By and large the presentations were quite un-informed. One person got up and claimed that it was BIAL's fault, by over-charging, that airlines were not using the aerobridges. Another got up and was complaining about the lack of expressway, and that is was BIAL's fault. Quite looney stuff.

Then there were labour-political types who were bemoaning the loss of jobs to local Kannadigas by closure of HAL. In many ways it was a mela.

But then, there were also people like Mr. Saxena, former MD of HAL, Prof Rajiv Gowda of IIMB, who addressed serious issues.

But for sure, the 13th date has caught many off-guard and ill-prepared. It was a sophisticated mela.

I met with Dr. Hemachandra Sagar. He is part of the Sagar family as in Sagar Apollo, etc. Very impressed by his thought processes, intelligence, and grasping ability. We may doubt the integrity of many politicians, but not this person.
