A perfect Bus Day this time, almost!
It certainly got better for me this time. Can't take the bus regularly to work because of the last mile problem (HAL airport to CV Raman Nagar, no bus, no shuttles to rely upon). So the Bus Days for me are Auto rickshaw haggle days as well.
But not this time. 314AA, a new route, goes all the way from Whitefield to Bagmane Tech Park. Too good to be true, but I was at my bus stop at 8.25, and a 314AA showed up at 8.30 am (as was told and promised by 'someone'). Nice Marco Polo equipment, 12 Rs only all the way to Bagmane Tech Park, aha!
The route is an iffy one though. Airport Road is one thing, and Kaggadaspura Main Road another. Spent 20-25 minutes (!!) to cross the narrow stretch near Railway crossing, and reached Bagmane bus stand only at 9.40 am. Got off 314AA, and hopped on to the Tech Park shuttle which circles inside the campus every 5-10 minutes. 9.50, in my office. Route Map here, red dot is where the that 25 minute jam happened.
So an almost perfect Bus based commute, spoiled only by the horrible jam at Kaggadaspura. This is what I don't like about routes like 314 AA. Why run such a long obscure route? Why not just run a shuttle from Old Airport Road to CV Raman Nagar or wherever, and via Kaggadaspura if you like. Run a smaller shuttle, high frequency, and I will change from Big10 (G1), and just hop on.
Long distance point to point route covering narrow roads is probably not a good idea. Isn't it? Or am I overreacting from just one bad experience at Kaggadaspura? You tell me from your experiences if you had any on this Bus day.

V505-A EC to Bagmane bus service
It was a great relief to see a month ago that due to bus day effort this section has been emphasised. This bus which used to ply only till Domlur bus stand extended to CV raman nagar. No Doubt it got so much favor as the stretch which left only to be served by V201-R after domlur got a lease of life.
Thou the bus helps plying in normal time, but if someone thinking of catching the same bus in off-time duration, its very difficult to see this bus. I heard that it was extended to C V raman on trial and having last return from C V Raman at 5PM (i think thats too early for an IT office). So not quite sure about timings and their correctness. Another day i waited since morning 6.30 (as said by bus conductor) till 8 am to catch the bus.
I am still not sure about if i can get this bus before 8 or after 10, today was my 4rd day of missing my office while waiting for this bus at hosa road stand for an hour after 10:15 till 11:15 but could not get a glimse of it and finally returned back home.
While i could watch lot of Volvo buses from Electronic city to KBS(Corporation)/ Silkboard/ Banashankari with hardly 1 or 2 passangers or even empty after the rish hours, but hard to see a bus to going towards indira nagar side.
Seeing the pattern i couldn't stop forseeing a possibility for me to shift near to office, as i would not have a effective alternative to driving down to office. I believe in avoiding vehicle to reduce the traffice mess.
