18-lane autobahn to BIA - isn't it clearly an overkill?

The ride towards Bengaluru International Airport and beyond will soon become a minutes-only affair with work under way to upgrade Bellary Road (NH 7) into an 18-lane autobahn with a high speed rail link (HSRL) embedded in it.

These pictures are of the 5th cross, Vth block, Koramangala, the one-way road leading up to the Canara Bank junction. The road has over the years become almost totally commercial, with any number of eateries, shops and what have you, setting up there, making it an almost one-stop destination for all kinds of products and services for a large section of the Koramangala population.

Autorikshaw Refusals - Share your story!

A day is not passed when we are not encountered with situations wherein 'Autorikshaw Driver' refuses to take us. Sometimes it becomes so unbearable that could make one angry at every auto in the sight.

ROB for ORR near Tumkur Road between Yesvantpur to Chikbanavar

Finally SWR has called tender for ROB at MES road connecting to Tumkur road on ORR which was real pain for road users.

Tender value worth Rs 20.22 Crore , to be completed in 24 months. As their are two rail gates, it was nighmare for road travell.

1. Yesvantpur to Yelahanaka ( 12 Kms ) is penidng due to Land not provided by GoK.

2. Yelahanka - Channasandra ( 12.9Kms ) tenders finalised but work not yet started.

3. Kolar - Chikballapur ( 96.5 Kms ) expetected to be completed in 2011-12.

Why school children to be made victim for Traffic

Today it was published in news papers that our Commissioner has requested all the schools to start  at 8:30 am to beat the traffic.

An aborted Chain snatching incident

 

The chain snatching incidences are on the increase for quite some time now. Our neighbor lady had lost her gold chain to an auto rickshaw driver a few years back, during her early morning walk. Similar incidences are on the increase which has made Bangalore police to sit up and take note. Beat police on motor bikes are a common sight, during our early morning walk.
