Inviting opinions on Phase I - for Bus route Maps project.

What could we set as the criteria for selecting the bus stops for Phase 1 : Approx number of stops as per BMTC are close to 3000, ( might be approx figure)

A project to implement bus route maps for BMTC in the form of glowing (for night) signages that are clear, visible, and depicting 'where you are' plus the nearby bus routes from the stop to main stops in bangalore. The purpose it to help bus commuters locate themselves and commute with comfort without worrying about how to reach their destination.

Local train problem for ladies compartment

Kind attention: railway minister, as per the ladies demand of central line we request you to please make sure that the 1st and 2nd coach of 12-car and 9-car rake of central line should be a ladies compartment, so that it will be convinent for ladies to get in the local train because there is so much crowd in between Dombivali - Karjat - Thane in the morning time that it is impossible to get in

Trams option for Bangalore?

Hi all, have we considered the Trams option for Bangalore?

Clearly, on our narrow and super busy Indian roads, Trams seem unviable. However, we should probably consider them for the suburbs being developed. What about Trams in Electronic City or from EC to Silk Board?

Choked connectivity to Whitefield - solutions?

If you look back, or go ask city agencies, they would say that a lot has been done to improve connectivity to Whitefield. A six-lane railway overbridge at Marathahalli, 2006. A prominent Big-10 service (G-1), 2010. A once-every-5-minutes air conditioned bus service (335E), 2009. Road improvements (Varthur Road, Mahadevapura main road), since 2003.

City to get commuter rail services soon

State government, South Western Railway to share cost of commuter rail service.

SWR & BMTC to blame for poor response for Devanahalli service

On the one hand the city whines that it doesn’t have a “lifeline” like Mumbai’s suburban trains. It clamours for Metro and other high-speed rail networks. On the other, South Western Railway (SWR) is planning to withdraw the train service from Yeshwanthpur to Devanahalli via Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) just a year after it was introduced.
