BMTC-improving the services/facilities- relying on Public Transport

Hi Prajas,

A question that I often ask is 'Did Bangalore really need a metro'? Could we not have efffectively managed the BMTC/KSRTC bus-services.

Recently, I had been to Ramnagara/Channapatna area for some work. Ended up having about an hour to kill so decided to check out the KSRTC bus stand at Channapatna.

Unique ID for telephone number?

http://www.deccanherald.c... provides an article about a proposal to use the UID for telephone numbers. This is not a good idea and I emailed Mr. Acharya (the person quoted in the article; contact information at http://www.cdot.com/about...) pointing out issues and proposing alternate solution. He appears to be based in Bengaluru - can anyone local contact him and/or C-DOT and dissuade him/them against the idea?
