During late 80's and early 90's, I used to love and look forward to the mornings-after-rainy-nights in Bangalore. Pollution was a problem then too. But such mornings with crisp, clean, clear air was something else.

Talking of Abide and Karnataka 2020 task forces, some like the concepts (eminent personalities helping with their ideas), some hate it (unconstitutional, without accountability). Regardless, the two task forces are here to stay, and look to be set for some serious business.

Looking for inputs for a presentation on Hubli Dharwad CDP - ASAP

I have been asked to make a presentation which would be presented to high profile group meeting in Hubli (ABIDE like). The aim at the end of the day is to get improvements incorporated in the CDP (comprehensive development plan), which is under revision.

Now, a Vision Group

Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa will head the Vision Group on Karnataka 2020, a panel constituted for finalizing the state’s vision document and its subsequent implementation.

Are we hopeless? A random thought....

Passport in three days

Citizens can now get a new passport within three days of police verification, or on the same day under "tatkal" scheme, as the Ministry of External Affairs on Monday signed an agreement with Tata Consultancy Services.

Solar rickshaws

Solar-powered rickshaws called green rickshaws were introduced in Chandni Chowk here on Thursday as part of a pilot project. Each of these rickshaws costs about Rs.17,000 and the idea is to have them in place of the man-pulled rickshaws.

So, will BMTC do one of this?

I was waiting for one of these two to happen. What if:

  1. BMTC bids to operate buses in liberalized UP transport sector?
  2. BMRC (Bangalore Metro) orders its own fleet of buses to make sure it gets good numbers to reliably reach all their stations?

Satellite Bus Stands - Will they reduce traffic?

Most of the traffic planners say to start the satellite bus stands to reduce the city traffic. Recently KSRTC Minister Mr.Ashok announced many satellite bus stands and even in Mysore where the traffic is quite normal in the range of 300+ crores. Will they really serve the purpose?
