"Big10/Volvo to office" day for Whitefield - come join!

It grew out of an idea from Pradip, a public transport enthusiast. He suggested that we stand at Kundalahalli junction one weekday morning and hand out roses and BMTC route maps to all the car commuters. The thought has grown into a  "Big10/Volvo to work day" for Whitefield.

Streets for Mysore

Reproducing some of the works Vadi and I had put together couple of years ago.  So simple and inexpensive, sustainable and looks neat.  MCC spends so much money but what we get to see is sad.

Pedestrian Subway - Change In Design

In the recent past, many pedestrian underpasses have been built at various locations. However, the utility of these for pedestrian crossings has been minimal & one hardly finds pedestrians using them, unless forced to with barricades (eg. Pedestrian subway at City Railway Station, & at KBS).

Design templates for each road type

Based on the above classification, a number of road types were obtained in section 7. As mentioned in section 3, we are here proposing a reference design/ design template for each of the road type enumerated above.

Classification of Roads

As we explained in section 3, it is impractical to go through the design process for every road. In addition, it is desired that there is a basic degree of standardization across all the roads in a city.

Design Example

Here we run through a real life example of a stretch of a road. We will look at the current state of this stretch of road, go through its uses as listed in section 4, and see the requirements of each of its uses as mentioned in section 5.
