For some time now, blogs, facebook  and other forms of social media have been used extensively for rallying people around an issue or a cause. However, what makes some of these campaigns more successful than others? Does the workability of social media for mobilisation depend on the manner in which information is designed and/or disseminated?
 

Why is the Bellandur Lake Dead?

There are 20 storms cum sewage water inlets feeding polluted water into the Bellandur Lake in total. Out of this only one inlet namely Koramangala Challaghatta (KC) valley inlet water is being treated before discharging into the Lake.

JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy is still smarting over the Lok Sabha poll results in Bangalore. Hurt by the drubbing, Kumaraswamy railed against Bangaloreans at a party workers meet at the Palace Grounds ... “Even after my government started several new initiatives, the electorate rejected the party in Bangalore. I wonder why ...” said Kumaraswamy ....

So now, elections over, pressure on BJP to perform etc etc, its time for city's local government to deliver more on the Big10 promise. While we can criticise the mish mash that city's local government is (BBMP, BDA, BMTC etc, and then ABIDe, two ministers assigned to the city), good work or unplanned work, bit it does seem like there is work happening on the ground inside the city.

 Idea is a thought or conception which actually exists only in the mind. An idea when the thought is converted into an object, process or technique which displays an element of novelty becomes an invention. However, some inventions also represent a radical breakthrough in science or technology which extends the boundaries of human knowledge.
