Hi all
The Residents of LIC Colony, Jeevan Bima Nagar, Bengaluru-560075 have been jointly working through its Residents Welfare Association, the "Residents Forum" to make sure that BWSSB supplies the alloted quantity of water to all residents fairly during their alternative water cycle day for almost 2 years now. On August 6, 2011 the Residents Forum had organized a dharna against the BWSSB which highlighted the issues faced by the residents. A Memorandum was also given to the Chariman, BWSSB. After followups the Residents Forum has filed RTI demanding several answers. During this time we see an article in the Times of India dated October 10, 2011 where the Chief Engineer has made baseless charges against the residents of the colony terming them arrogant. He has also accused the residents of beating up the officials which is totally untrue.
Therfore we wish to refute back on the baseless claim by Chief Engineer and demand withdrawal of his open-ended statement

look beyond BWSSB
BWSSB has serious capacity limitations. The eventual answer may perhaps lies here.
Thanks for your reply
Dear Mr. Muralidhar Rao
Thanks for enlighting us with the link you had sent across. We are sandwiched in between New Thippasandra and HAL 3rd Stage both of these areas get proper water supply. We have clearly pointed out the issues to the Chairman, BWSSB saying that it is not a macro issue which might take years to by resolved. DNA has also published our grievences in detail. Attaching those articles for your refecence and record.
Sending across the links to the press reports in DNA for your reference.

Our Mail to the Chairman, BWSSB on this above subject
Respected Sir,
While thanking all members of the press for regularly highlighting the water woes of our colony, we would like to inform you that the Chief Engineer - BWSSB, Mr. T.Venkataraju has made a very baseless and open-ended remark against the residents of our colony in an interview to the Times of India which was published in Page 2 of its October 10, 2011 edition. The scanned copy of the article in the Times of India is attached for your reference.
For the past 2 years several promises by your staff have been broken and the complaint register in the Jeevan Bima Nagar Sub Station currently has no relevance and meaning although many citizens including elders with no knowledge of computers and modern communication techniques continue to use it as a channel for recording their complaints.
We understand that on odd days, power cuts might be the cause of reduced water supply but this cannot be the norm on all watering days. We fail to understand that during the watering cycle of New Thippasandra the water supply is normal and we would like to point out that pockets of New Thippasandra have been getting water even during our watering days which actually should not happen.
Over the past 1 year we have regularly updated your kind self about the developments in our colony via mail, letters etc and waiting for a positive response. Although our patience has been tested by your staff, we keep ourselves in control and do not cross boundaries by beating up your staff.
We are attaching the letter given to the editor of the Times of India and updated their team of the true facts with regards to unfulfilled promises by the Executive Engineer, Indira Nagar during the Dharna dated August 6, 2011. We once again attach the Memorandum submitted to your kind self during the dharna.
Expecting a positive and quick response from your end and an early end to our water woes. We once again request you to give us an appointment and hear our grievances
