Namma Railu - The Citizen's advocacy campaign, it all started here 5 Years ago with that famous 'Praja Train Day'. It was May 8th, 2010 to be the precise day. That one train ride completely changed the lives of many of the Praja members and advocacy campaigns that Praja members have undertaken.

It was in June 2006 that the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone for the Namma Metro. It was by far the largest urban infrastructure project taken up for Bengaluru whose population is projected to peak to 19 million by 2031.

Its been the bane of the slum that Bangalore has become that we do not have any credible mass public transport options in the city even after many years and many thousands of crores!

Its almost 10 years that the metro dream started in Bangalore and only parts of it is reality today. That reality is also far from ideal!
