Water is elixir of life - Those handling water are only trustees

Dear All,

Have a look at the following cut and paste from Deccan Herald dated 22-5-2013.

Mammoth bungling BBMP style

BBMP seems to be bereft of all hopes measuring up to its calling. They outsource the work of salary disbursing to Keonics without crediting any funds.

First hearing in the High Court - June 3

3 Jun 2013 09:30
Asia/Calcutta

Just marking the date. June 3. First hearing in the High Court on this PIL.

We are not sure how many people can actually join in at the court. Need to check with the lawyer if 10-12 of us can join in. But if you are interested to attend, please do leave a comment here. One of us will respond on how many can come.

Watch this post for more details on this first hearing.

Building and Other Debris Dumping

Another face of  keeping city clean is debris management and recycling. I am seeing it equally responsible as garbage.  If we watch carefully we will find debris everywhere. We can manage dry and wet waste somehow, but debris is hard to manage. Some tractor has to come and we should have labour and tools dispose it. Also where to dispose debris is a *big* question.

Someone (BPAC?), please fund a CIO for Bangalore

"Can't fix it if you can't measure it". That is what a lot of people say. There is a lot that gets measured by BBMP/BMTC/BWSSB/BESCOM/BDA etc. But we just don't get to see. Want GIS data used for creating masterplan to be public? Want to know the city's water consumption, and inflow from each source every day?
