A really nice workable idea.

Hi

Check this out: http://beta.fixourcity.org/

I may have shown it to some of you before but that time it was not done for any Indian City.

Now this version is ready for Chennai. I think it is really interesting and if some public agency takes it up, it can have a deep impact.

What do you guys think?

Storm water drain in Bilekahalli

The BBMP has been constructing a storm water drain across the Ranka Colony road in Bilekahalli off the Bannerghatta Road. This project was started in 2008 and still there are no signs of this project getting completed in 2009. This drain is to carry the water flowing from J.P.Nagar area to the Bommanahalli lake without flooding the roads enroute.

Are Government websites reliable in their static contents/updations?

Dear All

Many of us have experienced difficulty in obtaining correct/uptodate information from Government websites.  This has led to a number of questions:

- Why were such portals launched

- Were the websites designed and developed 'in house' or 'outsourced', if so,

- at what cost?

City Planner - Metroquest

I found an interesting tool on the cityfix.com on urban planning. You can plan the real city for 40 years.

Our city agencies like BBMP, BMLTA etc can use tools like this and we praja can explore the possibilities. I could not get a chance to get into the tool in detail. Just wanted Praja members to know about this.

Early Bangalore as seen from Bus Route # 11

Bangalore in Fifties and Sixties was still a Pensioners’ Paradise and very much a sleepy town. It was mostly divided into City and Cantonment with Basavanagudi and Malleshwaram well known among its residential areas. Jaya Nagar or its famous mosquitoes had not made their debut yet.
