COALITION FOR DEMOCRACY
WALK FOR YOUR FREEDOM.... RALLY FOR YOUR RIGHTS...
RECENT EVENTS IN MANGALORE AND ELSEWHERE IN KARNATAKA HAVE LEFT MANY COMMON CITIZENS SHOCKED AND SEETHING WITH ANGER. GIRLS BEATEN IN PUBLIC, HATRED BEING SPREAD AMONGST DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES ... WITH SELF-STYLED LEADERS OF VIOLENT AND INTOLERANT OUTFITS OPENLY THREATENING AND INTIMIDATING CITIZENS WITH IMPUNITY, BOTH ON TELEVISION AND THROUGH NEWSPAPERS. THE RESPONSE OF OUR GOVERNMENT HAS ONLY HEIGHTENED OUR SENSE OF INSECURITY, AND MADE US SKEPTICAL ABOUT THEIR COMMITMENT TO PROTECT OUR FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS GUARANTEED UNDER THE CONSTITUTION.

WE CAN NO LONGER BE MUTE SPECTATORS AND ALLOW THE STATE AND OTHER GROUPS TO INFRINGE ON OUR RIGHTS AS INDIAN CITIZENS.
BENGALURU MARCHES FOR OUR RIGHTS... A PEACEFUL, NON-VIOLENT PROTEST MARCH FROM BANAPPA PARK (behind Ulsoor Gate Police Station –start of K.G.Road) TO CHIKKA LAL BAGH ( Majestic) ON THURSDAY, THE 12TH OF FEBRUARY 2009 AT 2.30pm
CITIZENS OF BENGALURU WILL SUBMIT A MEMORANDUM TO THE GOVERNOR – SEEKING THE RESIGNATION OF THE HOME MINISTER OF KARNATAKA AND THE GOVERNOR’S AFFRIMATIVE ACTION IN ENSURING STRICT ENFORCEMENT OF THE LAW TO EFFECTIVELY CURB THE SUBVERSIVE EFFORTS OF UNSCRUPULOUS, FASCIST ELEMENTS AND TO THEREBY INSPIRE CONFIDENCE AMONGST THE COMMON CITIZENS ABOUT SECURING THEIR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS.
SEND THIS OUT TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN. THIS RALLY IS FOR OUR DEMOCRACY, OUR CIVIL LIBERTIES AND FOR OUR RIGHTS.... FOR OUR CHILDREN AND THEIR FREEDOM THAT IS THREATENED.... WE MUST PROTEST, WE MUST NIP THIS EVIL FROM RAISING ITS UGLY HEAD AND STOP DIVIDING THE COUNRTY AND SOCIETY ON COMMUNAL AND PREJUDICED BELIEFS.

in case, you didn't know!
In Germany, they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me - and by that time no one was left to speak up - Gustav Neimoller.
