Curious case of Blr Footpaths

Have been observing footpath related activities..especially around Basavanagudi/Hanumanth nagar area since few years..BBMP does the footpaths over and over again..this happens almost once in two years..initially there was the kuddapa stone(undressed) as the foot path..this was changed to dressed kuddapa..

This was replaced by concrete slabs few years ago

BBMP Project Management System - meeting report

The meeting started a bit late. The dignitaries were invited one by one to the dais by Kathyayini Chamaraj, Executive Trustee, CIVIC. Mr. R. Sri Kumar, IPS, Vigilance Commissioner, Central Vigilance Commission was the First. He was followed by the deputy of the actual Chief Guest - Mr. Siddaiah, IAS, Commissioner, BBMP. The others were Mr. Raja Sivan & Mr. J. K.

Ashok said the BMTC had proposed to build a hotel near Bangalore International Airport and also a bus terminus to provide facilities to the passengers who arrive late in the night.

Bangalore's hall of shame - 3rd class treatment for Bus commuters @ Marathahalli

Sometime ago, we discussed Bangalore hall of shame locations, and Marathahalli Outer Ring Road junction. After one round of work to 'improve' pavements where in they basically widened the roads connecting Outer Ring road and Varthur Road, and installed barricades to prevent pedestrian spill over, this junction has been left as it is.

I have been a regular office goer and hence would like to bring to your notice the difficulty faced going to office from Sai baba Bus stop to Agarkar Chowk after 8.30 am in the morning and then coming back from office after 7.00 pm in the evening  from Agarkar chowk.
 

18 multi-level car parking facilities to come up in City

The BBMP has now added eight more locations to the 10 it had proposed earlier, to develop a total of 18 new multi-level car parking facilities.  

 

Cycle parking bays

I came across a great initiative by some of the Praja members, to help promote cycling in the city. In addition to designing cycling lanes and stations at metro, it will be great idea to identify parking bays in CBD and other places in Bangalore to securely store our bikes.
