APPIKO movement in Mysore to save boulevard on Lalitha Mahal Road

Photograph of Appiko Movement by students, senior citizens and members of MGP. The number of trees proposed to be axed are confusing.  Almost every tree on this boulevard has been fixed with a red card, a number is written in chalk, scored with a cross and another number written.  Misleading the citizens.

How are we doing in 2030?

There is growing realization that environment is going to play a big part in the microclimate of fast growing cities. The trend therefore in some well planned cities is to move transport underground.

NH7 to BIAL - A sea change

I have been traveling on the NH7 to BIAL for the past 1 year and decided to make this post on how my experience has changed since May 2008.  It is also a tribute to the Bangalore Traffic Police's efforts to make the commute a safer one.  We often have nothing but the harshest words for our bureaucrats (and I am no exception), but we need to give them their due when they do a good job

New Road Design proposal

the answer is no.

But why is this happening ?

Because we cannot ensure ACCOUNTABILITY  of the IAS officers

Abhishek - Life down the drain

On Sunday evening, another small boy was consumed by an uncovered storm water drain. The story is tragic and is compounded by the utter callousness of the authorities - the BBMP engineer went on record virtually blaming the mother for the mishap.

BMTC Atal Sarige (Low cost bus targeted users with less income)

While intention of introducing the new class of service is good, the mean chosen to acheive it is 100 % bad.

Pros :

  • Provide cheaper PT for users with less income.

Cons:

Why stop at 250-storeys, Mr CM?

A world-class 200-250 storey building and a garden around it. That is what may come up on the Bangalore Turf Club land. Yeddyurappa envisaged this structure during the Vikasa Sanaklp Utsav.
