So, how much do you know about Police's performance. Policing is on part of infrastructure that doesn't get 'reviewed' as such. And thanks to movies and what not, our take on police is mostly based on misconpcetions, and not data.

Restraining traffic growth via Parking enforcement, congestion charges or cordon pricing in central areas of Bengaluru city

This is a project to develop and propose a workable approach for re-introducing parking regulations in the city. A further long-term objective is to detail solutions for introducing congestion charge or cordon pricing in the central area of the city (CBD).

The project aims to prepare proposals that will provide benefits like:

Further to the meeting with Mr Praveen Sood, AdCP-Traffic, a project will be necessary to identify a workable approach to re-introduce parking regulations in the city.
A further long-term objective for the project would be to investigate possibilities for enforcement of congestion or cordon pricing, particularly in the CBDs.

What a contrast? Where we all are going gaga over how India has progressed since 1990's economic liberlization. Yes indeed we have moved on and made progress. But still there is large chunk of population that is still to get its due opportunity of decent life.

"TTMCs have proved to be quite a money-spinner for the transport department. Taking a cue from this, the government is now planning to set up similar centres in Mysore, Mangalore, Udupi, Shimoga, Hubli, Dharvad and other places.
