Dear all

It was a vociferous one voice of more than 300 environmentalists that echoed from the Chamundi Hills

- DO NOT DESTROY PRECIOUS TREES - FIND ALTERNATIVES -

APPIKO movement in Mysore to save boulevard on Lalitha Mahal Road

Photograph of Appiko Movement by students, senior citizens and members of MGP. The number of trees proposed to be axed are confusing.  Almost every tree on this boulevard has been fixed with a red card, a number is written in chalk, scored with a cross and another number written.  Misleading the citizens.

Call to Davangere People : Know, Care, Participate

Dear Friends,

Davangere has been one of the cities witnessing fast development geographically, commercially and known for its quality educational institutions.Being the centre place of Karnataka and witnessing important happenings, I feel that there is no much community participation in the developmental activities in the areas of knowledge, attitude and action.

Perhaps Obama should try PRAJA

The Obama administration is making efforts to raise the involvement of the average citizen in policymaking. The White House has invited ordinary Americans to contribute ideas on making government more open, and unveiled a new website where raw federal data will be put online for public use.

Bt-Brinjal

I saw this campaign about Bt-Brinjal and thought will ask the opinion of the learned Prajagel. Request you to check out the following links. The campaign talks about Bt-Brinjal and why it should not be allowed to enter India. With the new government swearing in, this would indeed be one of the matters on which a policy decision has to be taken.

BESCOM Tariffs?

HI All - don't know if its the right forum - but I need help and guidance in a BESCOM related matter -

Tree cover in Bangalore

I came across an article in 'The Hindu' which mentions that the tree cover of Chennai is 20%. Also, looking online I realised there is good amount of information about cities in the US along the same lines and how it is used - mainly for urban forestry.

Revamp of the Bangalore civic body.

Everything else

Recently we discussed about high dividers and roads being made “Double roads” in a forum. The truth is that, the roads are two way traffic roads by default, to start with. Normally two way roads are made one way to take care of increased traffic density. There is sometime a need to iterate to satisfy the public demands.
