Tata's bid to awaken spirit of leadership

Tata Jagriti Yatra 2008 will be an inspirational train journey undertaken by around 400 young and enterprising participants, between 18-25 years, from India and overseas. These youth will participate in the 18 day train journey interacting with social and economic entrepreneurs across the country thus encouraging the spirit of social entrepreneurship.

The train will leave Mumbai on December 24, 2008 and covering 13 cities and villages of India before returning to Mumbai on January 10, 2009, thus covering around 8000 kms.

An international team of researchers has just released a Global Urban Competitiveness Report, which takes stock of 500 cities around the world. New York has been found to be the most competitive city in the world, followed, in that order, by London, Tokyo, Paris and Washington, DC.

Landfill unit begins operation

After much protest from the public, landfill site for hazardous wastes developed by the State government in Dobbespet has started its operation. Hyderabad based Ramky Environmental Management Pvt Ltd, the service provider at the site, has been collecting hazardous waste from industries, since June 19, this year. So far the service provider has collected 1,800 tonnes of hazardous waste. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board has entrusted the job of lifting the waste and dumping the same at the landfill unit in Dobbespet, to the service provider.

Nh-4 development

There has been a lot of activity on other posts but i find the infrastructure towards yeshwanthpur and the NH-4 towards nelamngala hardly recieve any updates...can anyone update about these infrastructure projects under development or that are about to start?
