For a city thats industrially growing by leaps and bounds, one of the blossoming hubs of development connected by the Jigani Bommasandra Link Road (that connects Hosur Road to Bommasandra/Jigani/Anekal/Bannerghatta Road) lies in a sad state of neglect. Several top industries, viz. Biocon, HCL, GSK, Sigma, etc. have set up their large units on this road.
However, the road has been in a pitiable condition for almost a year now...It has now turned into a dangerous predicament for commuters and pedestrians. Vehicles are compelled to drive on the wrong side, taking a winding undulating, harrowingly slow journey across the roads to avoid the miserable death-traps laid across the road. There is hardly a flat surface stretching beyond 2feet. Commuters run a high risk of damage to vehicle and life. Pedestrians often suffer mishaps because of vehicles going in the wrong direction. I have witnessed 2 incidents of pedestrians getting injured and have narrowly escaped being mowed down by the large vehicles. The absence of any traffic regulatory authorities accelerates the problem. Large vehicles (trucks.lorries, containers) plying on a road unfit for travel worsens the situation. I would like to call the attention of PWD and other concerned authorities to bring in following measures:
1. Relay/construct the road with high quality material, 2. Strongly discourage heavy vehicles, 3. penalise traffic violators, 4. install traffic regulatory authorities, 5. increase traffic patrol
